Can the season change cause more seizure activity?

Matt have had more seizures in the winter then any other time of year at first we thought it could be the excitement of his birthday, Christmas and maybe even the lights due to flickering Christmas lights, so for years we have made sure no flickering lights, wroked on keeping him as calm as possible during the events and still he has had more seizures.

Does the season change cause more seizures? Could it be the lack of sunlight? The shorter days? I dont know, but I do know that it is always around the same time Winter starting at Daylight savings time that he begins to get wrose from maybe one or two every few months to sometimes nightly and even some during the day. Medication goes up and we work even harder to find out how to stop this activity is it Winter that is causing more?

The first seizure Matt had was January 2002 he had just turned 13 years old a few months before. Over the years we have learned many things food has a lot to do with seizure activity and reducing carbs really helps, cannabis oil helps, destressing helps, affermations. and gratitude thinking and writing helped, but could winter be causing more activities?

I thought I would look it up and found a study done in 2011 that I have never found before stating yes it does and many people with Epolepsy do have more seizures in the winter time See the study here

So can a sun Lamp help? Although I do not know the answer to this I am so wanting to get one and see and after just a little bit of research I found a study done back in 1974 stating that Vitamin D has helped read here

Although Matt does get blodd tests regulary I think I will bring this to our Doctors attention the next time we go, in the mean time I am going to be looking for a sun lamp and trying some Vitamin D for him.

We never know what will work but I am so glad I found this information out.

Does lack of sun cause seizures it looks like it can.

Today I am going to go to the store and buy some Vitamin D and I will keep you all posted with a blog on what we find out.

It looks like Fall, Winter and spring can all cause seizure activity.

I am so grateful I found this out and can share it with you.
