Grand mal seizure

Day 2 of this new year and as I was awake in my bed writing a blog post about this new year on life with Matt I hear it a grand mal seizure. I get up with my phone in hand and decide to take this video. Battery low and cuts out at the end but this is what happens in our house with a grand mal seizure, this one only lasted around a min.

This is something we have lived with for 16 years now, in fact he had his first seizure that we know about right on new years eve at a friends house of course we did not hear about this until he had his first at home, but that is another story.

It has been a long journey and a lot of learning to keep this guy healthy with many obstetrical in our way, many things to over come and many, many things to try.

In this video you will see me talk to Matt telling him to come back to us and that he is okay and rub him, I am not sure if this helps but I think it does. I believe it does, hearing a loving voice and feeling the contact and love that comes from another can do wonders and I believe it does for Matt during this time. Sometimes we are not able to be with him during his seizures, maybe while we are sleeping and we aren't woken up during it, maybe we are in a different part of the house, maybe well you really never know why. When we do hear them we rush in as fast as we can to make sure he is safe and to let him know he is not alone.

This is a grand mal seizure.
