Some days even the simplest things are difficult
There are some days that even the simplest things are difficult. Brushing teeth, changing clothes, making the bed putting clothes away, tiding up.
The things most of us take for granted.
Yes there are days when Matt has no clue how to do any of them.
He may look fine, he may even be able to.speak a little but knowing how to do something might be difficult and he may only be able to do one thing at a time if at all
So difficult in deed. So difficult that you ask him and he justs looks at you. So difficult that when you come back he still hasnt done anything you have ask.
As a parent you get to a point where you begin to be able to read the signs that are given to see what our child is capable of in that moment.
Somedays he can do what I ask, other days he can not. Somedays I dont have to ask him repetedly only once and he gets busy. Other days he needs more help a shorter list and explanation of how to do things.
Its up to me to read the signs of what Matt I have in every morning. Many Matts, many diffrent out comes and sometimes many difficulties.
Can he remember to take him medication or do I have to place it in his mouth? Will he remember to make his bed and tidy his room? Will he just sit in his chair not knowing what to do?
We never know what difficulties he will from moment to moment. For instance last night as he was hetting ready for bed he says from his room I think "I need help" I go in and his clothes are all turned around and he is trying to.put them on. I help him out and remind him he needs to take his day clothes off first. I lay his jammies out the way they are supposed to go on and leave him to to it.
Somedays I have to dress him but this day he just needs help on showing how to.put them on.
I am grateful he was able to ask for help there are day he cant even speak at all.
Yes somedays even the simple things are difficult but we make it work, we dont give up and we are forevery moment, for every Matt.
