Hugs create a better mood
For the past few days Matt has been having a difficult time, it began with a dream he had, continued with a book he was reading and he just couldn't figure a way out of it. We allowed him to choose his moods and he chose to stay in his room some times just laying in bed sad.
Lost in his head, no way out.
Although we would remind him he could choose better thoughts, he still just stayed in his room in his head.
By dinner time on the third day he was ready for a hug, Mike and I asked him if he would like one and he agreed, Mike came and gave him a big hug from and I decided it would be a good idea to give him a hug sandwich so we did and held him in this moment to help him out of his mood.
It did help and he wanted more hugs during the evening and by bed time his mood had changed and he was a much happier Matt.
Hugs help, try it.
