Matt wants a bike
Matt has began ask us for a bike, it is spring weather is getting really nice out and the little ones have bikes they ride a lot. Mike has one and I just got one for Mothers day.
Matt hasn't had a bike for a very long time, for one he hasn't shown an interest and for two it has to be a special bike having him sit on a regular two wheeler with a normal seat would be difficult we would have to make many adjustments.
A three wheeler would be better, I have been looking at all the different bikes, I wish there was on that could clip onto my bike but I haven't seen anything like that. A three wheeler with a high back so we could add a seat belt so if he has an episode or a seizure he would stay in his bike.
There is so much to think about when we start thinking of a bike for Matt. What type of seat would be good for him?
What about the handle bars how high up and what type?
Has to be a three wheel for sure.
Has to have a high back so we can add a belt to it.
Does it have to have speeds?
Where should the breaks go? Will he remember how to ride a bike?
So many questions and concerns to think about and to work through as we get to our next step to getting Matt his very own bike.
This will be a fun project to do for him.
This bike looks like a cool option but still might need a better seat. It has the high back where we could add a belt though and Mike. Clarissa or myself could ride with him.
I will continue to keep researching and see what I can come up with.
