Our Kitchen
When we first moved into our new home we knew that with the kitchen being open it may not be the best fit for Matt but we would have to make do and hope for the best.
As you can see it is not in its own room but in between rooms in an open format, it is quite nice but so easy for Matt to sneak into cupboards when we are all asleep.
This way leads to Matts room at the end of the hall so he will have to pass right through the kitchen to get to the other side of the house.
This way leads to the dinning room down stairs and the living room as well as the outside. We knew it would be difficult to keep him out of the kitchen, we knew it maybe a chance moving here, we knew he may begin again to sneak food and that it was so very easy for him to. Now the issue with him sneaking food is he never knows what food he is allowed, he eats gluten free bread so he things he can eat bread but he can't eat just any bread it has to be gluten free.
What Matt eats matters even if he forgets we have to be on our toes to make sure he only eats what he is supposed to and keeping him out of the kitchen helps with this but what happens when it is more difficult to keep him out?
Having an open kitchen is nice sometimes but when you live with Matt it is a lot more work to keep him healthy, I wish he remembered that he can't just serve himself, I wish he knew what food he can and can not have, I wish he understood the importance of it all.
Sneaking food is never good, I hate he feels he needs to and I wish that he would just come and talk to me, come and ask me for some but he never does except for his every day meals and normal snacks lol.
Our kitchen may not be idea for caring for Matt but this is the kitchen we have for now so it is what we have to make due with. Now to work on keeping Matt our.
