A few weeks ago Matt deceided to take a walk by himself. Something he had never done before. Lucky Clarissa was in the kitchen at the time and asked him what he was doing.
"Going for a walk" he replies to her.
As if it was something he has always done alone. She reminds him that he can't go for a walk alone and needs someone with him.
Matt is not able to walk by himself for many reasons.
1) He may have a seizure and could really harm himself if he fell as well as not remembering where he was, who is was or where he lived after.
2) Even with out a seizure he forgets to watch for cars and would walk right accross the road cars or not. No road sense.
3) Matt gets confused easily and may loss his direction or even what he was doing feeling overwhelmed, scared and frustrated and get completly lost.
4) Matt doesnt know how to talk to people and at times can seem hostale, angry and frustrated all by his body laugage and facial expression always have others asking whats up if I wasnt there to help alleviate the sittuation I could only imagine what would happen.
Here is.just a few of the issues why Matt can not go for a walk by himself.
When we lived out of the city we had a big yard and I allowed him to walk.outside in the yard by himself as long as I could see.him, here in town he can not.
It was a very scary moment to think of him going for a walk alone, glad he didnt make it to far and that we are able to have someone always here with him.
