The aftermath of a Grand Mal seizure

Last night Loki an I heard a sound, we both thought the same thing and went to check on Matt. As we open the door to Matt's bedroom we hear the sound he makes when having a Grand Mal seizure, we look in side the room and see him on his bed shaking, yes a yucky Grand Mal seizure. Loki says mom go get your phone, I usually forget to get a video of Matt during this time, it isn't on the top of my list all though I do think it is important to help others realize what it is like.

So the seizure ended and I went to get my phone to take a video of the aftermath of a seizure, so if the seizure takes a few minutes (hopefully no more then five) the aftermath is the bodies way for coming out of the seizure he begins breathing again taking deep, heavy breaths and does some jerking, although he may seem awake he is not and has no idea that this is even happening.

We stay for the aftermath and talk him through telling him, he is okay and we are here. Even though he will have no memory of what is happening or that we are even doing this, I believe he can hear us while he going through this and I believe that it brings him comfort.

Loki helped me comfort him and asked me a some questions, he was a big help.

I am so grateful for Loki and how much love he has for his big brother.
